Steve Dipaola
has the
control and professional results
needed with Facial Studio

Short Biography
Steve DiPaola got involve in today’s technologies
when he was still really young. He got passionate
before many others for 3D animation and all its
possibilities. His passion for 3D technologies combined
with his passion for facial expression push him on the
top when he created the awesome
Kraftwerk video back in
1987. Breaking all the established rules, he made the
first 100% 3D clip.

“I've
worked with 3D face animation for 20 years, created the
first fully 3D music video using synthetic faces for
Kraftwerk and taught the first course solely on facial
animation, at Stanford University. I'm still around
facial animation everyday but when I go home to do MY
work I always turn to Facial Studio - it's fast,
flexible and gives me professional results. You can do
anything with it.”
After winning for that piece of art : Image Du Futur,
Montreal Animation - Second Place, Nicograph 87, Tokyo
Artistic and Technical Achievement Award, Nouvelles
Images de Monte Carlo Animation - Third Place; Steve
continued his quest for facial deformation and facial
expression with 3D tools.
“In my
20 years, I have used every kind of facial animation
system, writing many of them myself over the years.
Facial Studio gives me the control and professional
results I need but with an incredible ease of use.” |

As pioneer
in 3D animation, Steve worked for such well know clients
such as: NEC, MTV, ABC, and Universal Studios. Of
course, while working for them, Steve continued his
research on facial expression and facial deformation.
His research put him in charge of a team at the Advanced
Technology Group of entertainment company Electronic
Arts.
“Facial Studio gives me the professional look and
techniques I need, but with virtually none of pain that
usually comes with creating and animating high end
facial animation.”
Today, Steve DiPaola hands down his passion for 3D
animation by teaching at Simon Fraser University in
Vancouver, Canada. Just like Christopher Columbus who
was seeking for a new world, Steve seeks for a new 3D
world. |

 |
“Working in 3d facial research for 20 years, I was
skeptical that an off the shelf plug-in was going to
give the look and control I needed. Facial Studio
does and with an incredible ease of use to boot. Now
I own 3 copies for home, research and teaching!”
