Eurocom creates Batman Begins: the game
British video game developer,
Eurocom took on the task of creating the video game for the critically acclaimed movie Batman begins.
They knew they would have to step things up as far as production goes and they needed very specialized software to be
able to make this project work. This particular game required a lot of dialog, both from cut scenes and in game conversations in which the characters needed to have
a convincing flow and synchronization between their voices and the movement of their lips and general facial expressions.
This is why the team turned their eyes to the leading solution on the market and they used the
3DS Max edition of Voice-O-Matic
to bring these characters to life in a more convincing way.
This project required extreme attention to the voices and the characters
because most of the cast from the movie actually did the voice work for this game too. Christian Bale did his parts
as Batman and Bruce Wayne, Michael Caine worked on his dialogs as the trusted butler Alfred Pennyworth, The amazing voice
of Morgan Freeman was also recreated by the actor himself as he played Lucius Fox and Katie Holmes brought the female
element as Rachel Dawes. With such a star packed game it was obvious that the animations needed to be top quality too.
The beauty of Voice-O-Matic is that it was designed for animators by animators
to create the perfect solution for the lipsync of your 3D models. The plugin will perform an analysis of the
audio and create keyframes that can be easily tweaked by animators. Even more incredible is the fact that it
not only supports English audio, but also many other languages are available too. It also
integrate automatically with pretty
much any kind of character you have. Be it a simple low poly mesh with a basic rig or a complex model with a lot of detail,
Voice-O-Matic can handle all of it like no other software of its kind.
Batman begins: The Game was praised for the quality of the character dialog and the
natural flow that the 3D characters displayed when they would talk. This is one of the many examples of the quality that
you can expect from this amazing tool.
