There are many tools available for animators to make their workflow faster and more efficient, but very few are as intuitive as the Morph-O-Matic plugin. This allows animators to create very complex movements that look seamless and very natural. While giving the flexibility to tweak details that the team working on the project might find necessary.

The team at Vicarious Visions, a game development subsidiary from Activision created this blend between the famous characters Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the dragon. The games include a lot of platform adventure stages and also mini games that you need to get through as either hero in their respective game to defeat their enemies.

Digital Dimension’s team from Montreal was in charge of creating the eye catching TV commercial for the Game Boy Advance release of the two games, Crash Bandicoot Purple: Ripto’s Rampage and Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy.

The spot featured both characters in full 3D, with animations that looked amazing thanks to the use of Morph-O-Matic for the work process of bringing these video game heroes to life.

Another excellent TV spot for Crash bandicoot was also created with the use of Morph-O-Matic. This time it was a McDonald’s spot that featured an animation that blended real life with 3D characters. It shows Crash Bandicoot challenging a guy to a drag race and at the end he goes to the drive through to get some of the Crash Bandicoot happy meal toys. The expressions in the characters faces and the fluid animation of their movement are proof of just how powerful this amazing plugin can be. Virgin Lands, the German based 3D animation company responsible for this project, are also behind other important trailers and cinematics for games.
